My First Blog!

Glob is not a typo. It's a much more descriptive word for what's to appear on this blog page. It's an onomatopoeia of what goes on in my head when i'm thinking of insignificant, banal stuff. If you were to put a stethoscope against my melon, you'd hear "glob-globitty-glob-glob" as the synapses fire.

It also symbolizes my ability to type words in their proper letter arrangement -- meaning that if I were to go on the game show, Can You Spell Better Than a Fifth Grader, I would need 100 lifelines:

*Ring*...*Ring*

Nalyne (my older sister): Hello?

Me: Hi Nalyne, its Neil.

Nalyne: Hi Neil, what's up?

Neil: I need to know how to spell the word 'mispell'... or is it 'misspel'... or is it 'misspell'?

You get the picture.

Glob embodies truthful spiritedness in a discombobulated manner. If it's worth writing about, it's worth being spirited about it, albeit in an unorganized way.

Glob also signifies more than just a blog. My philosophy on blogging is like Roger Ebert's philosophy on movies -- it's not what the blog is about, it's how it's about it. Some of the most entertaining blogs are about the most mundane things. I'll do my best to leave the boring takes to the newspapers.

And finally, glob means that it can't promise to be politically correct and sensitive to all readers. If I offend you, well... TS. Having said that, go ahead and put my Glob page in your Favorites (even make it your home page if you wish), because you know you want to.

Congratulations on your new blog. Or should I say glob?
